We are participating in and with your help we can win a portion of the $3 million dollars they want to donate to charity! If Acadiana Humane Society in Sunset, LA wins, we can use the money to pay off our vet bills, purchase much needed cat food, and finish the construction of the interior of our hurricane safe animal shelter. All of this would go a long way to helping our no-kill animal rescue thrive and be able to do more for homeless cats, dogs, and other pets. Please vote soon, as the contest ends on November 22nd! Acadiana Humane Society is in urgent need of cat food! We currently have over 100 cats in foster care that need to be fed. As well as many AHS Pet Food Bank recipients who are asking for cat food to be able to keep their pets. We are almost out of cat food! We have plenty of donated dog food, but people rarely donate cat food. We will take ANY brand of dry and canned cat food, as we can use it for our Pet Food Bank to help low income families keep their pets! We do have our cats on specific diets of Purina One Chicken and Rice dry cat food, Purina Naturals, Purina Cat Chow, and Purina Kitten Chow. But, we have no funds to purchase any cat food! Donations to help us be able to purchase cat food can also be sent through PayPal to info@acadianahumane.org . Checks, money orders, and Petco or Wal-Mart gift cards can be sent to Acadiana Humane Society, P.O. Drawer C; Sunset, LA 70584-0536. If you would like to purchase cat food to donate, we have donation boxes in the lobby of Bridge Storage at 2510 Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette. Please be sure to see Linda or Miranda in the office if you would like to leave your name and address for a donation receipt. If you would like to donate to us in person, please either email our Director, Sue Rabeaux at suerabeaux@gmail.com or stop by one of our Petco adoption events and we can accept them at our adoption table. Please be sure that if you bring them to our adoption events at Petco, that you hand it to either Sue or an Acadiana Humane Society volunteer at our adoption table, to be sure that we get it. Acadiana Humane Society is also in need of donations to pay on our vet bills. Donations can be sent via PayPal to info@acadianahumane.org and designate in the note area that it is for vet bills.
We are also currently doing our winter raffle. Click here for more information and photos of the Dog Gift Basket valued at over $550.00! Gift basket includes all sorts of dog treats, toys, food, and supplies, as well as Petco Dog Training and Petco Grooming! For donations designated for our vet bills, we are giving away chances in our raffle. One chance is a $1.00 donation, or you can get six chances for every $5.00 donation. We will have raffle tickets available at our adoption events. The raffle drawing will be held on December 17th at 4PM at the Lafayette Petco.

Saturday, Oct 22nd (9AM-6PM) & Sunday, Oct 23rd (12-4PM) we’ll be at The Pumpkin Patch at 300 East Martial Ave. Lafayette!
- Admission to the Pumpkin Patch is free.
- Acadiana Humane Society is located under the oak tree near the church sign.
- Look for the white tent with the purple Rally to Rescue logo, and the red Honda tent to find us!
- Crafts and Fundraiser items available at our tent to raise money for our animal rescue!
- Great Harvest of Acadiana donated brownie bread, scones, and bread-sticks for our bake sale!
- Meet some of our adoptable dogs and an adoptable rabbit at our tent!
- We’re accepting donations of Purina cat & kitten food & any pet supplies at our tent as well!
- One of the largest craft and pumpkin events. Over 60 booths! Only the crafts sold at the Acadiana Humane Society booth raise money for the animals, so please be sure to look for ours while you are there!
- Hayrides, pumpkin, fun, games and food for everyone!

If you would like to donate items for our Pet Food Drive, there is a donation box in the lobby of Bridge Storage on Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette. You can also bring donations to our adoption and fundraiser events and give to us in person. Suggested items to donate would be: Purina kitten chow, any Purina cat food (prefer chicken flavored), Purina dog food, rabbit pellets, guinea pig food, ferret food, chinchilla food, cat litter, small animal bedding. Donation receipts are available upon request.
We’re in dire need of donations to pay all of our existing vet bills! Many thanks to Todd Haberkorn for choosing Acadiana Humane Society as the charity of his choice for his fan club to support! Please check out Team Haberkorn at www.teamhaberkorn.com. Todd is a talented voice actor, theater/movie/television actor, script writer, director, and all around amazing man. He can be heard in lead anime roles for FUNimation, seen in epic movies, such as Scream of the Banshee, and his own written/directed/acted in Green Eyed Clown series. He can also be heard in various video games! He also has a lot of respect for his fans, and knows how to communicate with them. Todd deserves appreciation and recognition for his work. Todd also loves animals and he loves what Acadiana Humane Society volunteers do for the rescue and foster animals in our care.
