We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. We all are volunteers. Our foster homes are our own homes that we open to homeless dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, iguanas, and other small animals, providing them with shelter, food, medical care and love.
We rely on the adoption fees, donations, fundraisers, grants, the generousity of the community supporters like yourself and organizations like the Krewe Des Chienes and Petco Foundation. While we whole heartedly support the objectives of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, we do not receive funding from them either directly or indirectly. We are not in any way affliated with the National Humane Society either, therefore, we do not receive funding from them either.
On this page, you will find several ways that you can choose to help us. You can choose where you want your donation to go. Every donation, no matter how small, helps! Best of all, its tax deductible!

Our adoption fees cover the following costs for Veterinary Services:
Spay/Neuter surgery
FIV/FeLV/HW testing for kittens/cats
Heartworm testing for dogs
First series of routine vaccinations
Rabies vaccinations
Microchipping
However, we do encounter unexpected medical expenses such as needing veterinary treatment for injuried or sick animals. Donations can be designated for our Emergency Fund for these unexpected expenses, including heartworm treatment for dogs in our foster care network.
While the animals are under our foster care, these are the supplies we use on a routine basis:
Dog and cat food (canned and dry)
Small animal food (rabbit, ferret, guinea pig, etc.)
Cat litter and Carefresh small animal bedding
Advantage, Frontline, Revolution, Comfortis, etc. (flea preventative)
Heartgard, Advantage Multi, Interceptor, etc. (heartworm prevenative for dogs)
Pet carriers, pet beds, towels, and small blankets
Toys for both dogs & cats & small animals
We accept actual donations of these items as well as monetary donations. Our brand of choice is Purina. We mostly use Purina Naturals, Purina One Chicken & Rice for cats & cats, Purina One Kitten Food, Purina Puppy Chow, Purina One Lamb & Rice for dogs, or any of the Purina Pro Plan foods for cats & dogs. We will use any brand or type of cat litter. But, our preferred brands/types are Tidy Cat clumping litter or any store brand of clumping litter.
We also accept coupons for these items. You can mail the coupon clippings to us at the address above.
We can also use gift cards to places that sell pet food, pet supplies, and cleaning supplies. For example: Petco, Petsmart, Walmart, Target, Tractor Supply, etc. You can mail them to the address above.

Become an Guardian Angel for one of our Special Needs Pets. Many of the animals that we rescue have medical problems due to abuse or neglect inflicted by their previous owners. We are committed to saving those animals that are expected to make a full recovery and that are otherwise adoptable. Some of our animals have health issues that necessitate special care or special medications. Your sponsorship insures that we can care for these special needs pets until they are recovered or until we find suitable placement for them.
You can also make a donation in the memory of your beloved pet or pet(s) that have passed on to the Rainbow Bridge. Your pet will then be immortalized in our In Loving Memory photo album on our Facebook page. We also accept donations in honor of human dog or cat lovers who have passed on. (Note: Due to software issues, we can no longer edit our original Memorial Wall on our website.)
You can donate gift baskets, gift cards, autographed items, and any item of value to be used in our annual winter raffle, or to be sold in our Acadiana Humane Resale Fundraiser page and/or eBay auctions year round. To view our Facebook Fundraiser page click here.
You can create and/or host your own fundraiser for us. It can be anything from a garage sale, bake sale, lemonade stand, car washes, raffles, eBay auctions – the only limit is your imagination. Let us know what you plan, and we will help spread the word as much as we can!
