Acadiana Humane Society volunteers have been very busy since the recent flooding in Louisiana. Much busier then we would have ever anticipated. Recent events have brought many area rescues to work together even more then ever before. We are doing what we can, with the resources that we have, to help as much as possible in our area and beyond. Thank you to those who have donated to help us at this time. If you would like to donate we do have a Paypal button on the side of this webpage. Thank you to those who have adopted animals to help us free up space to help other animals in need. We can not do what we do, without the support of each and every one of you. We have been so busy, that we haven’t updated our website in awhile. If you don’t already follow us on Facebook, please check out our Facebook page to see some of what we have been up to. While we don’t have time to post everything we do, we do post what we can from time to time.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment. Thank you, to those who have applied to adopt, for your patience in us getting back to you during these busy times. We are excited about our pending adoptions! Our next big adoption event will be at Petco South (605 Settler’s Trace Blvd.) on Saturday, September 10th & 11th. We will have cats and guinea pigs at both Petco locations all weekend. We will also have additional cats, rabbits, and dogs available on the 10th and the 11th at Petco South. Watch our Facebook page, Twitter account, and Instagram account for specific times, as we will post live during the events when we are not too busy. If we decide to have a regular adoption event before our big event, we will also post that info on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you!
Acadiana Humane Society is doing well, still soggy, but doing well and staying very busy.

Acadiana Humane Society is full! We have no more room until our numbers are greatly reduced. Since we are no-kill this means we need adopters and sponsors to be able to continue doing what we do to save other animals. Our waiting list is also full at this time. We have several animals from various animal control agencies and owner surrenders that are already on our waiting list. As soon as a spot opens up, we will take in unwanted & in danger pets from our waiting list. We will of course also take in any returned pet that was adopted from us, as we try to reserve a spot for returns. If you can help, please consider adopting, or fostering an animal already in our care, or donating to help us pay our vet bills and provide food and necessary supplies for our current rescued animals. We have a Paypal link on our website. Our application to adopt or foster is also on our website. Please email in your application for fastest response. Thank you! http://acadianahumane.org/catblogger/how-you-can-help/
