Petco National Adoption Weekend is all day December 3rd & 4th! Acadiana Humane Society adoptable pets will be at both Lafayette Petco locations all weekend!

Rabbit adoption fee is $50 per spayed/neutered rabbit. Guinea pig adoption fee is $20 each. Cat and kitten adoption fees are $100 each. You can download our prescreening application from our website. Emailing the completed application is the fastest way to get it to us. Approved adoptions are by appointment, so get your application in as quickly as possible if you would like to schedule an appointment. We will have some of our volunteers at both Lafayette Petco locations this weekend. We may have a dog or two available to meet for a few hours. Watch our social media sites for more details.
We are also accepting new foster homes, and even temporary holiday foster homes, for rescue animals that are already in our care. When filling out our prescreening application just note on it if you are looking to foster or adopt a particular animal or particular type of pet. Thank you!

Acadiana Humane Society is still in very urgent need of donations for our vet bills! We already owe money to four different veterinarian offices and have been numerous times since we first posted our pleas for help! The bills are due, or past due now, and we just don’t have the available funds to pay them all off! Our volunteers have been working hard doing fundraisers, and reaching out to others for help, even setting up at the Jockey Lot Flea Market to raise money. We set up a YouCaring Fundraiser but have so far only raised a very small percentage of our goal! While we appreciate every single donation, no matter how big or small, it takes more then a few people to help us reach our goal. If you can help, please donate through either our YouCaring Fundraiser, or through our Paypal donation button on our website, or you can send a check or money order made out to Acadiana Humane Society to our mailing address at P.O. Drawer C; Sunset, Louisiana 70584-0536. You can also call in donations directly to one of our veterinarians: Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic in Baton Rouge is where our largest vet bill is. You can call Azalea Lakes at 225-755-3838 with your credit or debit card and ask them to apply it to Acadiana Humane Society’s bill. If you are local, you can also watch our Facebook page to know where we are, as we can accept donations at our events as well. Just ask for Sue or Moriah at the event, as we have the Square Reader app on our cell phones and can accept donations via the app, or you can hand us a check or money order as well. We said we couldn’t take in more animals without donations to pay off our ever growing vet bills. But since we recently asked for help we have taken in 4 guinea pigs, a rabbit, 4 chinchillas, & now 3 tiny kittens! The chinchillas we transferred to NOLA Chinchilla rescue as we had to save them from animal control, but we just don’t have the finances to care for them. Acadiana Humane Society is in very urgent need of donations for our vet bills!! We already owe money to four different veterinarian offices and have been numerous times since we first posted our pleas for help! We have now reached our cap at one vet and will no longer be able to use these vets for additional medical care! We already have several spay appointments pending, and we need to update vaccinations on many of the rescues. Now we also have 3 bottle baby kittens to feed and bring to the vet!!
