The TIE BREAKER is now ON! If you have not yet registered to walk with Acadiana Humane Society yet, NOW is the time to do so! We have until July 15th at 8pm PST to win $1,000.00 which is EXACTLY what we still owe on our 2011 vet bills, thus helping us save even more animals in 2012!
The group in Lafayette with the most walkers by 8:00pm PST on Sunday, July 15th will win the $1,000!
*Don’t forget, for live event cities, total qualified walkers includes adult walkers, walkers under 12 who register with a Strut Your Mutt T-shirt, and couples (couples do count as two walkers). Virtual fundraisers and walkers 12 and under without a Strut Your Mutt T-shirt do not qualify.

Your $30 donation (includes your t-shirt) to register with us goes to our rescue, and may help us win the $1,000 to pay off our 2011 vet bills! Get ready, get set, get your pooch warmed up… it’s time for Best Friends Animal Society’s First Annual Strut Your Mutt in Lafayette, Louisiana. Join us for a leisurely morning walk to help homeless pets in the Lafayette area, and then celebrate afterwards at our ultimate doggie festival. You can walk with one or two of your personal dogs. Or, you can just walk with us without a dog. You can also request to walk one of our foster dogs if you prefer.
Registration Fees:
- Individuals: $30 (counts as a walker)
- Couples: $50 (counts as two walkers)
- Kids 12 and under with t-shirt: $20 (counts as a walker)
- Kids 12 and under without t-shirt: FREE (does not count towards contest)
- Virtual Participant: $10 (does not count towards contest) Virtual Participants, like Individual Walkers, can raise money for Acadiana Humane Society by joining our Dog Pack, but will not count towards the $1,000 contest.
Note: every person who is attending the event must be registered in order to participate.
To support Acadiana Humane Society choose us as the Dog Pack you join and we will receive 100% of all money raised (after transaction fees). Be sure to select Acadiana Humane Society from the drop down menu when registering please!
The top individual fundraiser and his/her dog will be recognized in Best Friends Magazine and on the 2013 Strut Your Mutt t-shirts!!
