News & Upcoming Events

Acadiana Humane Society volunteers have been busy so far in 2019 between new rescues including puppies, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and a stray parakeet. As well as the Krewe des Chiens dog parade, and other fundraisers and events. We would like to give a shout out of thanks to UL GLASS for their members volunteering with us during the dog parade this year! Thank you also to the others who volunteered with us for the dog parade and other events!

We are currently very full and starting the year out very low on funding, as donations always slow down after the new year begins. We are in urgent need of donations to help with vet care on our newest rescues, as well as to purchase pet food and cat litter. Below are the events that we plan to participate in the near future (event participation is subject to change due to availability of volunteers). 1. Saturday, March 16th 10 AM to 6 PM: Sanctuarium Emporium (formerly known as Three Geeks Studio) will be at Louisiana Comic Con: Lafayette 2019 at Artist table #122 selling handcrafted jewelry and other Art to help raise money for our animal rescue. 
2. Sunday, March 17th 11 AM to 5 PM: Sanctuarium Emporium will be at Louisiana Comic Con: Lafayette 2019 at Artist table #122 selling handcrafted jewelry and other Art to help raise money for our animal rescue. 
3. Saturday & Sunday, April 6th & 7th 9 AM to 7 PM: Petco National Adoption Weekend at both Lafayette Petco stores for adoptions by appointment: Petco South at 605 Settler’s Trace Blvd. & also at Petco North at 3215 Louisiana Ave.
4. Friday, April 12th ? PM to ? PM: Sanctuarium Emporium  will be at Cyphacon at in the Vendors Room selling handcrafted jewelry, other crafts, & collectibles to help raise money for our animal rescue.

7. Saturday, May 4th & 5th 19 AM to 7 PM: Petco National Adoption Weekend at both Lafayette Petco stores for adoptions by appointment: Petco South at 605 Settler’s Trace Blvd. & also at Petco North at 3215 Louisiana Ave.
8. Saturday, May 18th & 19th 19 AM to 7 PM: Petco National Adoption Weekend at both Lafayette Petco stores for adoptions by appointment: Petco South at 605 Settler’s Trace Blvd. & also at Petco North at 3215 Louisiana Ave.
9. Saturday & Sunday, June 1st & 2nd 9 AM to 7 PM: Petco National Adoption Weekend at both Lafayette Petco stores for adoptions by appointment: Petco South at 605 Settler’s Trace Blvd. and also at Petco North at 3215 Louisiana Ave.
10. Saturday, June 29th 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM: Be A Foster Event at Petco North at 3215 Louisiana Ave. Meet rescue pets that are in need of foster homes: kittens, cats, dogs, small animals, etc. Learn more about fostering, and also about bottle feeding. Applications to foster can be filled out on site.
11. Saturday & Sunday, July 13th & 14th 9 AM to 7 PM: Petco National Adoption Weekend at both Lafayette Petco stores for adoptions by appointment: Petco South at 605 Settler’s Trace Blvd. and also at Petco North at 3215 Louisiana Ave.
