Acadiana Humane Society needs your help! We currently owe our vet at Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic $1,047.96 for recent spays, sick rescues, and emergencies. We also owe Pet Care Animal Hospital $123.00 for the care of sick kittens and puppies, and some vaccinations. We currently have numerous vet appointments for this week alone, and we must get our vet bills down as quickly as possible!
On June 10, 2014 Acadiana Humane Society took in a litter of white kittens and their mom that were found in a dumpster. They were very sick with upper respiratory infections, eye infections, and intestinal parasites including coccidea. All of the original donations for them have already been spent to get them healthy enough to be spayed. They have a spay appointment this week, and we need to raise an additional $700.00 ASAP to pay their vet bills for spay, feline combo testing, fecals, vaccinations, and microchips. We also have two puppies that are being spayed this week, and will need to raise an additional $300.00 for their spays, vaccinations, fecals, microchips, heartworm pills, and flea medication. Plus we took in a sick kitten today that was dumped, and we will need to get her vet care ASAP. Poor girl has infected eyes and bald spots which could be ringworm or parasites. We will have to do some major shuffling to make room for her & keep her quarantined from the rest of the cats & kittens since we are already full. Donations are urgently needed for Purina Kitten Chow, Purina Naturals, cat litter, & vet bills!
