Garth
Acadiana Humane Society has taken in a lot of special needs animals recently and our vet bills have been skyrocketing. From Mathilda, an Old English Bulldog we pulled from animal control only to discover she has heartworms so bad that she has lung disease allowing her only 25% capacity in her lungs. To Misha, a Mini Rex rabbit with an eye condition that is requiring him to be hospitalized and monitored to try and save his eye. Missy, a Dutch rabbit that self mutilates and is also currently in the animal hospital under observation and treatment. Winry, a senior ferret that is currently in the animal hospital with daily antibiotic injections and subq fluids and an enlarged spleen. As well as Garth, a 9 week old one pound Chihuahua that we took in who already had pneumonia, and possibly distemper who is currently in quarantine from other dogs and living with a litter of kittens his age for socialization. This is just a small sampling of the special needs animals in our care at this time. Their vet bills alone are a lot more then we usually spend per animal for routine vet care. We really could use your help to pay on these vet bills. Support us through the events listed above, or by sending in a PayPal donation using the link on the right, or by mailing us a check or money order to Acadiana Humane Society, P.O. Drawer C; Sunset, LA 70584-0536. If you prefer to pay directly to one of our vets, you may do so by calling them with a credit or debit card. Just be sure to say your payment is to go towards Acadiana Humane Society’s vet bills. The vets we currently owe money to are: Pet Care Animal Hospital at 337-988-1100; Country Place Vet Clinic at 337-394-6296; Azalea Lakes Veterinary Hospital at 225-755-3838; and Spay Nation. Spay Nation does not have the ability to accept credit cards, so you would have to mail in a check or stop by and give them a check. Just be sure to note on the memo section that it is for Acadiana Humane Society’s bill. Thank you!
