Great Harvest of Acadiana has a giving program and Acadiana Humane Society is participating in August’s contest. They have three jars in their bakery each month for customers to cast a vote for one of the charities. Every purchase equals one vote! Stop by Great Harvest at 854 Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette, and when you purchase your bread or other baked goods, you will receive a token to cast your vote. Please consider tossing your token in the jar for Acadiana Humane Society. If we win, Great Harvest will donate $200.00. If we lose, we still win, because they will donate $50.00. This is the last week to vote for Acadiana Humane Society!  Thank you!

We had 14 vet appointments yesterday! Two puppies were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, fecals, exams, etc. Seven kittens and one cat were spayed, tested, vaccinated, microchipped, fecals, ear mite treatments, etc. One cat had skull X-rays and exam to determine cause of stumbling, lethargy, and sneezing large amounts of blood. Another cat had blood work, to determine cause of giant, bulbous chin and red gums; as well as laser treatment and medications to treat the problem. We also took two sick ferrets in for exams and treatment. We really need donations and adoptions ASAP so we can pay down our vet bills as we have another litter of dumped kittens to be spayed/neutered, etc. If you can help, please send PayPal donations to or or use the PayPal button on our website. You can also send donations via Amazon to Another option is to call in a credit card payment directly to one of our vets. Just be sure to tell them to put it on Acadiana Humane Society’s vet bills. Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic is our largest vet bill, and their phone number is 225-755-3838. If you prefer to pay on our smaller vet bill at Pet Care Animal Hospital, their phone number is 337-988-1100. You can also mail in a check or money order donation if you prefer.
