Team Haberkorn Supports Acadiana Humane Society!

Many thanks to Todd Haberkorn for choosing Acadiana Humane Society as the charity of his choice for his fan club to support! Please check out Team Haberkorn at www.teamhaberkorn.com. Todd is a talented voice actor, theater/movie/television actor, script writer, director, and all around amazing man. He can be heard in lead anime roles for FUNimation, seen in epic movies, such as Scream of the Banshee, and his own written/directed/acted in Green Eyed Clown series. He can also be heard in various video games! He also has a lot of respect for his fans, and knows how to communicate with them. Todd deserves appreciation and recognition for his work. Todd also loves animals and he loves what Acadiana Humane Society volunteers do for the rescue and foster animals in our care. Our volunteers would love to see our supporters check out Team Haberkorn and if you like what you see, please join! A portion of all memberships and all product purchases will be donated to Acadiana Humane Society! If you are already a fan of Todd Haberkorn, then this is an easy way to support Acadiana Humane Society while getting something that a fan can really appreciate!

Acadiana Humane Society is currently in need of several items. If you would like to donate them, you may do so at the Lafayette Petco on Louisiana Avenue, or at the Bridge Storage on Ambassador Caffery. Donation boxes are available in the lobby at the Ambassador Caffery Bridge Storage. Please mark AHS on the packages to be sure they know it is for our rescue. There is also a PayPal link on the side of this webpage if you would like to make a financial donation. Thank you! List includes, but is not limited to the following items:

On Saturday, October 25th we had some wonderful visitors at our Petco Adoption Event! Abigail and Zachary came in with their father to present a donation to Acadiana Humane Society to help the rescue animals. Abigail and Zachary saved up their hard earned money in a jar to donate to help the animals. Together they earned and donated over $22.00. The animals and volunteers of Acadiana Humane Society thank you both!

During the months of July and August, Great Harvest Bread Co. of Acadiana sold their doggy-licous 100% whole wheat dog treats as a fundraiser for Acadiana Humane Society! They donated 25% of the sales of the dog bones to our non-profit no-kill animal rescue!

On Friday, September 17, 2010 Great Harvest of Acadiana presented Sue Rabeaux with a check for $140.00 made out to Acadiana Humane Society. Pictured below from left to right are Sue Rabeaux, the Director of Acadiana Humane Society, and Christopher Meaux and Beau Lemoine, Bakers Extraordinaire at Great Harvest.

Shirley Rousseau Murphy Donates Autographed Books

Shirley Rousseau Murphy, author of the Joe Grey cat detective mystery books, has graciously donated six of her books to AHS/ Cat Ranch to use for their fundraising efforts. They are hardback editions, with beautifully illustrated jacket covers, and personally signed by Ms. Murphy.

Ms. Murphy’s books have won 7 Muse Medallion awards for Best Cat Novel of the Year from the Cat Writer’s Association. A life long cat lover, she has this to say about cats:

“To imagine our lives without cats stirs such an empty feeling. To imagine our human world without any animals at all, is, for me, to imagine a vast and empty void sterile in the extreme. No bird, no beast. No warm fur to stroke, no mute friend who is yet so eloquent, no eye of another species in which to gaze and speculate, no wondrous and tentative communication with one who is not like us. To be surrounded only with other humans–who are often very dull–to encounter no other form of intelligence or joyfulness or wit, seems to me unthinkably tedious. ”
