This tiny 1.1 lbs. kitten was rescued December 11th and is currently being hospitalized at Fontenot Veterinary Clinic. He was found crawling across the road. He doesn’t appear to have any broken bones. But he does have a head injury, a prolapsed rectum, and is dehydrated. As of today, he still won’t get up, and he appears to possibly be blind from the head trauma. He is eating and drinking good today. Dr. Fontenot said he is definitely not out of the woods yet. But if we can keep him hydrated he may have a good chance. He doesn’t seem to have any injuries except for the head injury, and soreness across his body. Seems that he may have been under a hood and got caught by a fan. The vet said the swelling on the brain could cause temporary blindness, as well as balance issues which would explain why he won’t stand. This is just one of many cats, rabbits, and dogs that we have taken in that needed lots of vet care. We can not do what we do withour your support! Donations would be greatly appreciated!

Barney the tiny 4 lbs. dog that we rescued from animal control that was so very sick, and was hospitalized at Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic for many months, has been adopted! Our dog adoption fee is only $100.00, but his vet bills were much, much higher then that. We had several generous donors in the beginning, but we still owe our veterinarians thousands of dollars. If anyone can please donate to help us pay off our outstanding vet bills we would greatly appreciate it! We can not continue to do the life saving work that we do without your help! We have a Paypal donation button on our website, as well as our mailing address if you prefer to send a check or money order made out to Acadiana Humane Society. We even have a YouCaring fundraiser you can donate through. We are a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue, so please consider donating to help us continue to save lives before the end of the year! We would love to pay off all of our vet bills before the New Year!
