Acadiana Humane Society volunteers will be at Petco South located at 605 Settler’s Trace Blvd. in Lafayette on Saturday, August 23rd from 9am until 4:30pm. Meet some of our adoptable cats, kittens, and guinea pigs. We will have our Rally to Rescue tent set up outside in front of Petco South with our fundraiser items. Three Geeks Studio’s handcrafted jewelry will be available to help raise money for the animals. We will also have Rally to Rescue and Acadiana Humane Society t-shirts available. Proceeds from all of the fundraiser items will go to help pay vet bills and purchase pet food.
We will also have a table set up inside the store with adoptable cats, kittens, guinea pigs, and possibly a special needs bunny rabbit. Stop by and visit with us! Petco South is also running a guinea pig special from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday while we are there and you can purchase your guinea pig cage/kits for half price!
We will also be accepting donations to help with vet bills, as well as pet food & supplies, and Petco gift cards, at our adoption tables. The donation bin in the lobby of Petco South is for Acadiana Humane Society’s Pet Food Bank. If you prefer donations to go to our rescue animals, either hand them to Sue or Moriah at our adoption table, or write AHS on the items before leaving in the Petco South donation bin. Any items in the donation bin not marked “AHS” will be used for the Pet Food Bank recipients to help them keep their pets during hard times.
We had to push back our ten spay appointments for puppies and the dumpster kittens by two weeks. We also un-expectantly took in five more kittens and a cat which will need to see our vet for spaying, vaccines, etc. We really need donations and adoptions ASAP so we can pay down our vet bills to get everyone spayed/neutered, etc. If you can help, you can either donate at our adoption table via cash, check, or credit/debit card (Sue has an app on her cell for cards). Or, PayPal donations can be sent to info@acadianahumane.org or ahspets@gmail.com or using the PayPal button on our website. You can also send donations via Amazon to ahspets@gmail.com. Another option is to call in a credit card payment directly to one of our vets. Just be sure to tell them to put it on Acadiana Humane Society’s vet bills. Azalea Lakes Veterinary Clinic is our largest vet bill, and their phone number is 225-755-3838. If you prefer to pay on our smaller vet bill at Pet Care Animal Hospital, their phone number is 337-988-1100

We will also have a volunteer at Petco North on Saturday from 10am to 3pm with at least one adoptable dog. We also have four one year old cats already on location there in the cat adoption center. If interested in one of the cats there, you can either download and email in your application; or you can fill one out in Petco and leave it with an employee.
If you normally go grocery shopping at Albertsons, then you can help Acadiana Humane Society by using one of our Albertson’s Community Partner key ring cards when you check out. We will have some available at our Petco South adoption event. Or, you can print your own using the image below. You can also save this photo on your smartphone and have them scan it at the register when you shop.
